Andrew Kwateng on the Bubble

Andrew Kwateng burst onto the scene as a sophomore for the Roswell Georgia Hornets. However, the quick, explosive back was slowed down by an ankle injury for much of 2011. Yet he still managed to show college coaches why they should do more than just keep tabs on him.

The 2011 campaign saw Kwateng and the Hornets struggle mightily under new head coach Justin Sanderson—going winless.

The first year coach inherited a team that lost a lot of quality talent to graduation (5 D-1 players), while Kwateng had the challenge of running behind a “rebuilding” O-line. Despite the challenge and the injury which limited him to playing in only 4 games, Kwateng rushed 79 times for 421 yards and 4 TDs in 2011.

Bad ankle, young O-line and all, watching his junior year film Kwateng looked to be even more explosive and faster than he did as a sophomore. And that’s saying a lot, because Andrew had college coaches pulling up to the table as a result of his sophomore year performance.

Andrew Kwateng is a prospect that is on the bubble for several of the D-1A teams recruiting him. Accordingly, a lot will be riding on what happens between now and his first few games as a senior.

Good luck Andrew and keep up the hard work.
